Position Title: Power Engineer Fourth Class - Summer Position Type: Regular - Full-Time Position Location: Coaldale Requisition ID: 26149 REPORTS TO: Chief Engineer/Designate DUTIES: Operation and maintenance of a 100,000 pph boiler & auxiliary equipment. Operation and maintenance of a 3900 HP ammonia refrigeration system. Responsible for lockouts of steam and ammonia pressure equipment. Maintains accurate records for logbooks & SPC data entries. Troubleshoot an Energy Recovery System (water – water). Completes maintenance work on steam, refrigeration, air compression, and utility water equipment. Completes regular boiler and refrigeration water chemistry tests. Changes filters, both air and oil, on various pieces of equipment associated with the boiler and refrigeration operations. Must climb ladders and work at heights when working on several pieces of equipment. Required to lift up to 50 lbs alone and 75 to 80 lbs with assistance. In some areas will have to stoop, crawl and work in awkward positions in order to service equipment. All other maintenance assigned tasks or functions as designated by Chief Engineer or designee. REQUIREMENTS: Work Quality – MUST promote and demonstrate safe workmanship. Must take pride in workmanship. Leadership – must demonstrate the ability to lead and influence others in the value of continuous improvement. Critical Thinker – must be able to tactfully challenge the status quo and stimulate change initiatives. Effective Communicator – effective listener; encourage open communication and sharing of ideas amongst team members. Organization – must possess the ability to organize and manage the implementation of multiple work lists. Delivers Results – Reliable, consistent, and self motivated. Certifications/Experience – Third Class Power Engineer’s Ticket. Operational & maintenance experience with high pressure boilers and ammonia systems.
