Requisition ID: 169807 Opportunity Type: Permanent Estimated Annual Salary: To Be Determined Type of Remuneration: Other Site Visit & Reallocation Allowance Programs: For information and to determine eligibility for Department of Health and Wellness Incentives, please contact About the Opportunity Department of Psychiatry, Nova Scotia Health and Dalhousie University The Department of Psychiatry at Dalhousie University is recruiting for a Full Time General Adult Psychiatrist Staff for Nova Scotia Health’s (NSH) Central Zone Community Mental Health and Addictions (CMHA) Program. This position is a substantive full-time (1.0 FTE) based in CMHA with the flexibility to work at other CMHAs (Cole Harbour {Base}, Dartmouth, and Cobequid / Hants CMHAs) sites based on the service needs. The Department of Psychiatry is a mid-sized clinical academic department within the Faculty of Medicine at Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Faculty work as members of multidisciplinary teams within the Nova Scotia Health Mental Health and Addiction Program to provide general psychiatric services to patients primarily in the Central Zone and specialty services to patients across the province. Responsibilities FTE 90% (0.9 FTE Clinical). FTE 10% (0.1 FTE Academic/CPD). To be attending or consultant physician to ambulatory patients in the CMHA Program. Conduct, order and ensure appropriate psychiatric backssments, appropriate psychosocial and laboratory investigations, and pharmacological & psychosocial interventions as per current standard practice. Take part in a psychiatry on-call schedule as required within the clinical program unless specifically exempted. Share in the short-term coverage of other services as needed during holidays or illness of other members of the department. Experience working within an interdisciplinary team to provide care and treatment for persons with moderate to severe psychiatric disorders. Clinical duties: • As directed by.
