Date Posted: 12/06/2023 Req ID: 35279 Faculty/Division: People Strategy, Equity & Culture Department: People Strategy, Equity & Culture Campus : St. George (Downtown Toronto) Description: The Manager, Immigration and Compliance Programs assists the Executive Director with developing, implementing, and managing key policies, guidelines, and procedures that support the University's global workforce strategy. The Immigration and Compliance team works with multiple portfolios (including Divisional HR Offices, Research Services, Procurement, and Talent Management) to develop and coordinate a comprehensive plan to mitigate risks associated with both immigrating foreign national talent and/or engaging workers outside of Ontario. This position manages a team of regulated immigration consultants, ensuring compliance with employment and immigration legislation, collective agreements, and policies as they relate to supporting inbound foreign national talent, and workers where the duties require a presence outside of Ontario. Qualifications Required: I. EDUCATION: University degree in a relevant discipline and course work in the Human Resources field leading to the completion of the CHRL designation or equivalent combination of education and experience. Regulated Canadian Immigration Consultant designation an asset. II. EXPERIENCE: Six (6) years of progressively responsible and related human resource experience, as well as experience in policy development and interpretation. Familiarity with Canadian immigration policy. III. SKILLS: Computer skills including intermediate to advanced skills in Excel and project management tools. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. IV. OTHER: • Demonstrated strength in policy development, preferably in a complex environment • In depth understanding of HR policy, preferably in the University or Broader Public Sector • Ability to plan and conduct policy-related consultation with stakeholders • Ability to communicate.
