Power Plant Operator (Summer Relief) Temporary, Full time Location: Medicine Hat, AB (On-site) Are you ready to power up your summer in the heart of Medicine Hat? Join the dynamic team at the City's Power Plant and be part of an energizing work environment surrounded by the stunning badlands and lush green spaces. About the Role: As a Power Plant Operator, you'll play a vital role in the operation of our combined cycle power plant. This is your chance to join a collaborative team, working 12-hour rotating shifts, weekends, and embracing overtime when needed. Safely operate equipment, ensuring compliance with safety, environmental, and AESO regulations. Monitor plant equipment proactively to prevent operational issues. Communicate operational and mechanical statuses to the Shift Engineer. Exhibit strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills. Assume additional duties as assigned by the Shift Engineer. Qualifications: Third or Fourth Class Power Engineer's Certificate of Competency. Minimum of one year related experience or a first-year power engineering student. Grade 12 or high school equivalency diploma. Valid Class 5 driver's license with an acceptable driving record. Safety Sensitive position - completion of a pre-employment drug screen required. Why Medicine Hat?
