About Our Opportunity The Nova Scotia Department of Finance and Treasury Board is seeking an experienced professional to lead its Fiscal Policy, Economics and Budgetary Planning (FPEBP) Branch. Reporting to the Associate Deputy Minister, the Executive Director is accountable for leading and managing a team of highly skilled staff. The Executive Director is accountable for providing strategic leadership of research, analysis, and development of provincial policy recommendations and strategies on provincial revenues, Federal-Provincial fiscal arrangements, taxation, economic policies, financial, pension, alcohol and gaming policies. The Executive Director is responsible for corporate policy and planning, and supports governance oversight of crown agencies and corporations for which the Minister of Finance and Treasury Board is responsible. The Executive Director will lead the team to maximize the effectiveness of provincial taxation and revenue programs, by periodically reviewing policies, legislation and regulations; establishing and implementing appropriate guidelines and procedures for program administration; and developing related communication strategies for ongoing administration of specific provincial tax programs and other measures.
