We are seeking caring, compassionate counselors to work with children and families in need of services . Position Summary: This is a professional clinical position providing therapy to the student and their families/guardians through the Treatment works Program, which was created as a result of the Parkland School Shooting, to work with students that have been identified by Pinellas County Schools as presenting a threat to themselves and/or others. It includes a collaborative coordination and development of a culturally specific individualized services plan in partnership with the individual and their family, which reflects strengths and self-identified goals. The counselor will be working on an integrated decision making team including a case manager, an interdisciplinary facilitator, and members of Pinellas County Schools to address progress made on goals, safety concerns, and needs of the individual and family. which is a rigorous therapeutic services program model to serve all students K-12 in the Pinellas County School System (PCSS) who have been identified via the PCSS's District Threat Assessment Team to be in need of intensive services. Work involves the application of psychotherapeutic theories and practices. Directions for Living is an essential services provider. A ll Directions for Living employees must be willing and able to provide vital support and essential services to the people that we serve in the event of an emergency, pandemic or other disaster situation. EDUCATION EXPERIENCE/REQUIREMENTS: Master's degree in Counseling, Social Work or related field required. Must have sufficient clinical knowledge to provide clinical intervention with students who manifest a range of psychopathology, utilizing various treatment approaches including individual, family play, and group therapy, individual psychopathology and normal childhood development.
