Kellogg, Hansen, Todd, Figel & Frederick, P.L.L.C. is seeking a qualified Information Security Specialist to help oversee of the security administration of our IT infrastructure, including the protection of our organization's information systems and data from unauthorized access, ensuring that all information systems are functional and secure, safeguarding information system assets by identifying and solving potential and actual security problems, and working with firm management and other IT team members to develop and implement information security standards and procedures. This position requires a high level of discretion for confidential work and information. The candidate must possess the ability to appropriately handle critical information and sensitive situations. Primary Responsibilities: • Developing and implementing information security standards and procedures, including incident response plans• Identifying and solving security problems and violations• Recommending and implementing security improvements• Protecting LAN/WAN and cloud-based systems from unauthorized access• Firewall, switch and VPN administration/security management (Cisco)• Content filtering system management• Packet capture/analysis and Netflow analysis• Network Access Control product management (CounterACT)• Vulnerability scanning (Nessus) and remediation• System log/event management and audits (EventSentry)• OS and application patch management (Microsoft, Cisco, Adobe, Java, etc.)• Media/drive encryption• Multi-factor authentication management• Keeping abreast of industry security vulnerabilities and maintaining up-to-date skillset by reviewing publications and attending educational workshops• Responding to IDS/IPS and other security alerts in a timely manner• Assisting IT team with general tech support and help desk requests as needed and/or during any periods of downtime Candidate should have substantial experience with: • Microsoft Windows Operating System (client and server)• Cisco switches, routers, and firewalls• vulnerability scanning (Nessus experience preferred)• Packet capture and analysis• Network security• Patch management/deployment (Microsoft SCCM/MECM and PDQ experience preferred)• General IT support/tracking and monitoring support issues to ensure a timely and satisfactory resolution to problems Required Qualifications: • Must have a bachelor's degree and 2 years' experience in the field of information security administration• Must demonstrate excellent organizational, communication, inter-personal and multi-tasking skills• The candidate must possess the ability to effectively interact with all levels of staff and external contacts and work as an effective team member, meet tight deadlines with the flexibility to handle a variety of tasks and shift priorities simultaneouslyKellogg Hansen is a trial and appellate litigation firm based in Washington, D.C.
