Department: House Supervisors Job Title: Patient Services Support Specialist Reports To: House Supervisor Job Summary: The Patient Services Support Specialist provides support to the House Supervisor on off-shifts . Job Responsibilities: Provide support to the House supervisor by taking on any task and/or assignment as indicated. Obtain medical supplies from storeroom as requested. Obtain patient food from the cafeteria as requested. Providing clerical support to units as assigned by HS. Manages essential medical equipment including IV pump inventory. Manages Safe Patient Handling and Mobility (SPHM) equipment. Collaborates with day shift nursing units and therapy team to identify SPHM equipment needs. Cross training and utilization as other clinical support staff (Nursing assistant, Monitor Tech, Patient Sitter, etc). Completes other duties as assigned. Requirements: Education: High School diploma or equivalent. Skills: Strong communication Strict patient confidentiality Willingness to learn Licensure: N/A Certification: BLS Physical Requirements: Repetitive use of hands and fingers (e.g., use of computer keyboard); may require lifting and carrying light loads (up to 40 lbs), including boxes, equipment, IV solutions and stooping and kneeling (e.g., to pick up items from the floor, to remove and replace items on lower shelves and to file documents in lower file drawers); sitting, walking, or standing for long periods of time may be necessary; must be able physically to operate the equipment used for the job.
