You'd be joining a team focused on helping support and stabilize families involved with DCP&P where the children are at risk of abuse or neglect. What you'll do as a visitation counselor Help maintain the parent-child bond by providing visits for children in foster care and their parents Coordinate visits between parents and resource parents and transport children to and from visits Provide visit planning, coaching techniques and debriefing; helping to improve parenting skills and interactions so reunification or permanency can occur Facilitate meaningful visits; helping parents meet the physical, emotional and developmental needs of their children Ensure the safety of children and model appropriate interactions between parents and children Work collaboratively with peers, DCP&P and other community providers Complete documentation consistent with program and agency requirements.
