Purpose of the Hospitality Aide: The Hospitality Aide is responsible for supporting the STNA's with non-resident care related tasks throughout the shift. The Hospitality Aide will have the opportunity to attend STNA classes, after a probationary period is completed, and if growth into that position is desired. Hospitality Aide duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Assist and/or transport residents in wheelchairs to the dining room, transport residents to and from various areas, (i.e.: physical therapy, activities, beauty shop). May accompany and direct ambulatory residents to and from dining room. Assist in passing fresh ice water to residents' rooms, take water pitchers to dishwasher according to procedure. Pass food trays and assist residents with "set-up" (i.e.: put cream and sugar in coffee or tea, pour beverage, cut meat, assist in buttering bread, opening packets, place clothing protectors on residents before, meals, remove clothing protectors following meals). After intake is recorded, may remove trays, put trays back on cart and clean up area. Ensures resident's clothing have proper labeling as well as signs hung in room to specify if facility or family will be doing their laundry. Will let Social Services know upon admissions if resident has adequate clothing. May assist in passing snacks to residents' rooms and to residents up in wheelchairs Answer resident's call lights promptly. Call nurse assistant as needed Visit with residents and read magazines, mail or newspaper to them, paint nails, if appropriate and in coordination with the activity assistants. Hospitality aides provide assistance to the nurse and/or nurse assistants in procuring supplies or equipment. Duties to include but not limited to Fill the utility cart with clean linens to take to individual residents' rooms. Resupply bathrooms: individual residents' bathrooms and shower rooms. Transport linen barrels to soiled laundry area, bring empty barrels back to units. Change linen on residents' beds (unoccupied beds) if needed and/or make bed for the day. Straighten closets, including the tops, shelves and drawers of resident's dresser. Notify nurse or nursing assistant if a resident needs attention that you are not permitted to provide. Accompanies residents to doctor's appointments as needed. Must consistently demonstrate positive attitude and behaviors, while contributing to the overall success of the company Other duties as assigned by Supervisor. Reminder: Hospitality aides cannot provide hands-on care until their STNA license is obtained. Hospitality Aide Qualifications: Must possess a high school diploma or G.E.D. Candidates will also be required to pass a pre-employment background check, COVID-19 test and undergo a physical.
