JOB SUMMARY: The Accounting Supervisor will be responsible for assisting the Cost Accounting Manager with the monthly close process and various analyses while ensuring all reporting deadlines are met. A successful Accounting Supervisor should be familiar with all accounting procedures and ability to work collaboratively with the team. DUTIES, FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Update monthly manufacturing and field standard costs Prepare monthly journal entries and account reconciliations in accordance with month end closing deadlines Prepare monthly schedules including Variance Cap, LIFO, Slow Moving Inventory, etc. Assist with monthly inventory counting and analyzing inventory adjustments Collaborate with and support departments with special projects Assist with year-end audit requests Performs other related duties as assigned Oversees local accounting department (3 clerks) REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance Two years of experience in Accounting Working knowledge of GAAP reporting Ability to perform work accurately and thoroughly Strong organizational skills and a self-starter Excellent communication skills Strong attention to detail Ability to meet deadlines Good problem-solving skills Ability to work cooperatively with others Advanced knowledge of Excel WORK SCHEDULE: The Accountant is an exempt salary position and is located on-site in McArthur, OH. OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Applicant must have satisfactory outcome of drug screening and background check prior to starting employment.
