The Program Coordinator will be responsible for planning, delivering, supervising and monitoring programs for their assigned branch . Wage rate is based on level of relevant experience. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Plan, schedule and implement all aspects of assigned programs. Recruit, develop, and coordinate program volunteers. Ensure that participants have the appropriate registration and payments to participate. Responsible for the safety of all participants, staff and volunteers. Maintain positive rapport with participants and their caregivers. Represent YMCA in appropriate business & community groups and local schools, including publicity as directed. Notify supervisor of any problems relating to program outcomes, impact, tracking and the class overall. Gather periodic participant feedback through distribution of written evaluations. Active and visible involvement with members, volunteers and staff in a positive, friendly manner that communicates and demonstrates the YMCA core values of caring, honest, respect and responsibility. Participate in and support association and branch events and fund raising activities. Supervise employees in assigned accountabilities, monitor site operation, schedule and verify time sheets. Identify training needs and initiate development activities of supervisees. Recommend effective personnel management actions (i.e. employee counseling process). Secure and maintain required trainings and/or certifications necessary for the position. Assure that new employees complete orientation and training according to established guidelines and provide on the job training as required by supervisor. Ensure duties, responsibilities and accountabilities of all direct reports are defined and that the individual understands the standards for acceptable performance. Notify Department Director of job openings, assist in hiring and interview process. Keep employees informed of association and branch events. Responsible for following the child abuse and neglect reporting process including completion of Suspected Child Abuse/Neglect reporting form, calling children protective services (696-Kids) and notifying your immediate Supervisor, Branch Executive, Risk Management and Human Resources Department (s). All employees of the YMCA of Greater Cleveland are mandated reporters for any signs or suspicion of child abuse and neglect. QUALIFICATIONS: Education High school diploma or GED required, Associates Degree in a relevant field preferred . Experience: Minimum of (1) one years' experience in staff supervision. Minimum of (1) one years' experience in programming/program growth. (Youth oriented Programming and Sports) Certification(s) and Requirements: Adhere to Blood borne Pathogen standards and attend annual training. CPR and First Aid certification and Safety training required within 90 days of hire. Technical Skills and Knowledge: Program expertise to instruct / lead class(s), team(s) when assigned instruction is unavailable. Strong personal computer skills and experience with standard business software. Demonstrated strong customer service skills. Must be able to model the key attributes; Welcoming, Genuine, Hopeful, Nurturing and Determined Must show commitment to the mission and cause of the YMCA and uphold its values and ethics Ability to work effectively work with people of different backgrounds, abilities, opinions and perceptions Ability to multitask in a changing environment PHYSICAL DEMANDS Ability to sit, stand, walk, reach, stoop, kneel, instruct and bend for long periods of time. Ability to lift and/or move up to 50lbs. WORK ENVIRONMENT: Ability to work in a moderate to noisy work environment. May be required to work outside and on occasion may encounter inclement weather.
