A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A PROJECT MANAGER As a Project Manager, you are the glue that holds our business together. You ensure that projects have supplies, resources, and parts. You also track each project from start to finish and ensure they are finished in time and under budget. From industrial and manufacturing to mining or gearbox, you are an expert in your field and can manage several projects at once. You determine customer requirements, estimate, develop shop routers, create and follow project schedules, and invoice the project upon completion. As the liaison for clients, you develop working relationships and make sure to properly inform clients of the process, close sales, negotiate prices, schedule, and any relay any other information regarding their project. You review requests for proposals and complete proposal preparation including estimates, a complete review of the proposal, and contract requirements. Leveraging your knowledge, you provide project estimations for quotations. Estimates include the development of routers that plan work methods, procedures, materials, and outside service requirements. Setting cost goals for job completion, you review all contract terms and conditions then assure compliance or negotiate changes as necessary. You review outstanding proposals, manage assigned projects, review plans and proposals with other managers, resolve any issues, and effectively engage team members to solve problems and provide quality work. As needed, you define solutions and incorporate them in job routers as well as serve on our review board for all assigned projects on any non-conformance issues. You feel good about using your knowledge and skills to lead our projects and crew members to success! PROJECT MANAGER QUALIFICATIONS Firm understanding of machining, welding, millwright, and mechanic trades 7+ years of experience in heavy industrial or mining repairs for equipment that is repaired in the field. Basic machine, fabrication, mechanical, and welding knowledge a huge plus. Understanding of planned outages. Engineering, manufacturing engineer, OR business degree Computer skills Knowledge about job-estimating, routers, purchasing, shipping, and receiving as well as machining, mechanics, vibration analysis, welding. Knowledge of geometric tolerance standards and the application to workable parts Able to read drawings, blueprints, etc for the job in which you are assigned.
