TITLE: Yard Foreman GENERAL SUMMARY: Provide guidance, support, and motivation to their staff. Pulls parts from vehicles for order or for stock. Ensures inventory accuracy for parts added to bins and/or parts pulled for customer order. Prepares parts for customer pickup and delivery. PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Pulling parts from yard inventory to fulfill Work Orders. Regularly moving heavy items such as doors, transmissions, engines, etc. Inspects all parts ordered to ensure product quality. Reviews work order to ensure timely delivery/quality of part. Promptly notify supervisor or sales staff when timely delivery/ quality of part is in question. Ensure parts ordered match Work Order descriptions. Communicate with sales staff to ensure accuracy of Work Order. Clean and prepare parts for customer pickup, shipping, and delivery. Assists in maintaining a safe work environment. Assist Order Fulfillment Supervisor and Shop Supervisor, as needed. Inspect returned merchandise for damage and inventory errors prior to restocking. Trains and answers any questions yard staff has. Supervises the yard and ensures all work is getting done correctly and efficiently. Assign work when needed. Inspect the yard for suspicious activity such as theft. Inspects and performs maintenance on Yard vehicles. Monitors safety and performance of staff. Upkeeps the yard making sure it is clear of garbage and debris. Yard scrapping and reporting. Ensure all OSHA and company safety policies and procedures are being followed. SKILLS & ABILITIES REQUIRED: Working knowledge of auto parts. Attention to detail to ensure accurate order processing. Ability to work as part of a team and independently. Able to work in all weather conditions. Physical endurance. Verbal and written communication skills. Possess the ability to adapt to change and willingness to perform tasks outside of normal duties. Ability to work overtime as needed. Possess a positive and friendly attitude. Possesses leadership skills. Extensive knowledge of how to remove parts off cars not limited to doors, bumpers, alternators, radios, etc. Able to handle confrontation. QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: EDUCATION: High school diploma/ GED equivalent. An associate degree or above in automotive a plus but not required. EXPERIENCE: Manager/supervisor experience a plus TOOLS: Must provide own basic tools. LICENSES: None. REPORTS TO: DIRECTS WORK OF: None.
