The YMCA of Northern Colorado is hiring Junior Lifeguards for our offsite pool at Arapahoe Ridge. Our Junior Lifeguards can serve up to 40 hours per week for summer with the opportunity to continue at a YMCA branch at the end of the HOA pool season. And as soon as you turn 16, you'll get a full lifeguard title and a raise. We offer limited pre-summer opportunities, so get certified and apply early. Junior Lifeguards are a valued part of our safety team serving as second responder and working in conjunction with more senior guards On the pool deck, you are an advocate for the safety and wellbeing of swimmers and their families and keep our Y's pool a friendly, welcoming environment for all to play, learn and build confidence in the water. Your responsibilities will include ensuring the safety of participants while they are in or near the pool or hot tub, maintenance and cleanliness of the pool, water testing and general problem-solving. You'll need to relate positively to a variety of people including other staff, members, program participants, and children. If you are not a certified lifeguard, please check out our lifeguard classes at https://www.ymcanoco.org/aquatics/lifeguard-cpr-certification Qualifications: Minimum age of 15. Look for our Lifeguard posts if you are 16 or older. Current ARC/YMCA Lifeguard, First Aid, AED, Emergency Oxygen and CPR-PR Certifications Professional, alert, courteous, and tactful Blood Borne Pathogens within 30 days Ability to demonstrate lifeguard skills to YMCA standards. Salary range is $13.65/hr based on experience. In addition, we offer a +10% differential for bilingual staff who test as fluent in Spanish and English. All YMCA of Northern Colorado part-time staff working 10+ hours each week are eligible to receive a free family membership. Staff who work 10+ hours a week earn 50% to 100% off our programs. That includes free YMCA traditional day camp, youth sports, learn to skate and swim lessons, and half off YMCA Camp Santa Maria overnight camp, personal training, specialty summer camps, and childcare. If you work 20+ hours a week, your benefits grow from there. Sick time is earned from day 1, and we make contributions of 10% of your salary to the YMCA Retirement Fund for eligible staff.
