Looking for an exciting career in Biosecurity? Christensen Farms is hiring a traveling sanitation lead to assist in training and leading teams of trailer washers across our 5 trailer washes. On a daily basis you will be working with a small team to ensure that the highest level of scrutiny and care is taken in cleaning our livestock trailers. This position is critical to ensuring that health standards are met to maintain our herd health and ensure we are able to meet our noble purpose of providing food to a growing world. Christensen Farms is one of the largest, family-owned pork producers in the United States, marketing approximately 3 million hogs per year. Headquartered in Sleepy Eye, Minnesota, the company operates throughout the Midwest with facilities in Minnesota, Iowa, Nebraska, Illinois and South Dakota. Triumph Foods also holds a 50 percent partnership in Seaboard Triumph Foods, LLC of Sioux City, Iowa, a primary pork processing plant. Position Overview & Responsibilities: This position is responsible to supervise staff on rotating shifts to ensure all live haul equipment is washed in accordance with safety, quality and bio-security requirements to meet transportation deadlines. This position would have a main location that you will be based out of and travel to provide additional support and training at our other Trailer Washes located throughout the Midwest. Major Areas of Accountability: Oversee staff on shift to ensure efficiency, quality, bio-security and safety standards are met. Assist Trailer Wash Manager with prioritizing and scheduling trailer wash activity and appropriate labor. Train new employees and coach existing employees Assist with washing and disinfecting of live haul and other equipment as needed. Report problems or concerns with quality, processes, equipment, materials and labor to Trailer Wash Manager Identify and support continuous improvement efforts. Complete required recording and documentation relating to business or regulatory requirements. Assist Trailer Wash Manager to ensure execution of all wash functions as per SOP. Responsible for routine/preventative facility tasks such as yard work, laundry and supply replenishment as needed. Perform light duty maintenance on the facility, equipment or trailers as needed and communicate any issues to the Trailer Wash Manager. Communicate with Trailer Wash Manager and Bio Dri/Inspection Lead to ensure quality, safety, bio-security and deadline requirements are met. Suggest, plan, and implement agreed upon process improvements and safety best practices. Functions as a back up to the Bio Dri/Final Inspection Lead. Functions as a back up to the Trailer Wash Manager. Supervises: Direct Reports: Trailer Washers Indirect Reports: None Reports to: Trailer Washer Manager Qualifications/Requirements: Minimum formal education required: None Minimum number of years of prior job experience required: 6 months Must possess a valid state driver's license Specialized Training requirements: Other Technical Skills required: None. Experience with skid loader, forklift and spotter truck preferred Specialized or Motorized Equipment and/or Tools: This position will require operating a company vehicle, or occasional mileage reimbursement.
