POSITION SCOPE: The Human Resources Director, based in the Tempe, AZ office, will plan, lead, direct, develop, and coordinate the policies, activities, and staff of the Human Resources department, ensuring company-wide legal compliance with all applicable HR related state and federal laws and regulations. The right person will enjoy working with a dynamic and diversified company in a fast-paced environment, will be highly motivated and approachable, will facilitate effective and continuous communication and provide broad HR expertise to managers and HR support to the employees of the Company. DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES: Oversees the daily workflow of the department including but not limited to; recruiting, onboarding, separations, I-9 compliance, record retention. Plan, lead, develop, coordinate, and implement policies, processes, training and initiatives to support the organization's human resource compliance and strategy needs. Prepare and maintain employee handbook and related policies and procedures as well as monitor trends, best practices, regulatory changes, talent management, and employment law; applying this knowledge to develop and communicate changes in policy, practice, and resources to employees and management. Administer and oversee the administration of human resource programs including, but not limited to, compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; training and development. Monitor and ensures the organization's compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews and modifies policies and practices to maintain compliance. Facilitate professional development and training and training activities for HR staff. Provide consultation and guidance to employees and all levels of management regarding employee or management issues, guided by company's policies, procedures and applicable laws. Assist with affirmative action program, ensuring company is compliant with state and federal requirements; maintaining records, reports and logs to conform to all federal contractor requirements Performs other duties as required. REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES: Strong supervisory and leadership skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills. Excellent Business Acumen. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Excellent time management skills with ability to prioritize to meet deadlines. Strong judgement, analytical and problem-solving skills. Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations in a multi-state workforce environment. Thorough knowledge of requirements under the EEOC, DOL, FLSA, FMLA, ADA, ACA, IRCA, COBRA. Knowledge of Federal Contractor, Davis Bacon Prevailing Wages, preferred. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred. At least five years of human resource management experience required. SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP highly preferred.
