Description:
Systems Engineer Essential Functions: Develop and maintain complex system architectures for large-scale projects and complex hardware assemblies Design, develop, and maintain software applications to support system infrastructure Ensure system availability, reliability, and scalability through proactive monitoring and performance tuning Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve system issues and improve system functionality Develop and maintain technical documentation, including system diagrams, user manuals, and standard operating procedures Lead project planning and implementation efforts, including resource allocation, risk assessment, and project scheduling Stay up-to-date with emerging trends and technologies in systems engineering and identify opportunities to implement them in the organization Manage requirements traceability and evolution through the system development cycle Provide weekly status of system development progress with requirements burn down Allocate requirements to subsystem & engineering coordination Evaluate system performance thresholds and provide direction Work with Senior Staff Engineers in developing instrumented flight test vectors and data acquisition Provide input for model development and simulation analysis Review and interpret customer specifications effectively Identifies, analyzes, and resolves system design weaknesses. Influences the shaping of future products by contributing to the framework (architecture) used across multiple products or systems Work on complex issues where analysis of situations or data requires an evaluation of intangibles Exercise judgment in selecting methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for obtaining results Determine methods and procedures on new assignments and may coordinate activities of other personnel (Team Lead) Other duties as assigned Qualifications and Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field 3-6 years of experience in systems engineering, with a focus on design, development, and maintenance of complex systems Experience with scripting languages such as Python, Perl, or Bash Experience with configuration management tools such as Ansible, Chef, or Puppet Experience with cloud computing platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams Strong project management skills, with the ability to lead complex projects from planning through implementation Knowledge of industry standards and best practices for systems engineering, including ITIL, ISO, and NIST.
