Double Belly Dump Truck Driver

Description:
FUNCTION: The belly dump driver operates a truck equipped with bottom discharge trailer to transport and dump loose materials such as sand, gravel, crushed rock or paving materials. The primary responsibility of the driver is to move loads in a safe and efficient manner. KEY ACTIVITIES: Visualize, fulfill, and implement Sunroc's vision and core values. Dump asphalt and rock products accurately Access off road construction sites, and safely maneuver truck where needed. Perform pre and post safety checklists on truck prior to and following hauling. Obtain ticket signed by customer and leave customer a copy. Provide customer service to clients. Maintain a commercial driver's license (CDL) and department of transportation (DOT) medical card. Maintain insurable driving record. Obey all traffic laws and ensure compliance with all safety and environmental requirements. Other duties as assigned. KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS Strong process/procedure orientation; Effective written and verbal communication/comprehension skills; Strong team and customer service skills; Ability to achieve performance objectives in a time-sensitive and quality-centered environment; Demonstrates initiative and reliability with minimal supervision; Safety conscious; Knowledge of DOT compliance regulations. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); Class A CDL with airbrakes an doubles endorsement; Current DOT Physical; Clean driving record; 1 year experience driving doubles or LCV (longer combination vehicle) required Track record of safety-conscious performance. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Physical Work Requirements - Heavy: exerting up to 50 lbs of force regularly; Frequent bending, standing, lifting, and ongoing physical activity; Varied working conditions, sometimes in extreme climates.
