The Charter Township of Shelby's Department of Public Works is now accepting applications for part-time/ seasonal Grounds Maintenance Workers . Applicants must be at least 18 years old, have a current driver's license, and a clean driving record. Interested applicants must be available to work 7:30 am 4:00 pm, Monday - Friday, during the summer. The hourly pay rate for this position is $15.53 per hour, no benefits. Some of the job duties associated with this classification include, but are not limited to: Paint fire hydrants Plant trees and shrubs Lay topsoil and replace sod and seed Repair and replace damaged sidewalks Utilize hand and power tools, such as shovels, rakes, and saws Drive Township trucks or other vehicles to worksites Assist full-time employees with various projects including sprinkler system repairs and water damage repairs Only the candidates selected for an interview will be contacted by the Human Resources Department.
