The Charter Township of Shelby Parks, Recreation and Maintenance Department is now accepting applications for a part-time/seasonal Grounds Maintenance Worker . Applicants must be at least 18 years old and have a current driver's license and clean driving record. Interested candidates must be available to work approximately 30 - 40 hours a week, Monday to Sunday, between the hours of 6:30 a.m. and 10 p.m., during the summer. The hourly pay rate for this position is $15.53 per hour, no benefits. Some duties associated with this classification include, but are not limited to: Open parks; check/empty trash cans, check restrooms for cleanliness or problems, rake playground areas, etc. Preparation of ball fields; rake, drag fields with groomer, chalk lines, change bases Mow and whip turf Weed/mulch landscape beds Shovel snow, salt sidewalks Trim walk/hiking/biking trails of brush Plow sidewalks and parks Paint Pick up and deliver parts and supplies Plant flowers and shrubs Assist full time employees with various projects Applications will be accepted until the position is filled.
