JOB TITLE: Crisis Response Diversion Coordinator Department: Administrative Reports To: Vice President of Clinical Operations Position Status: Full Time Classification Level: Non-Exempt POSITION SUMMARY : The Diversion Coordinator is responsible for the review, coordination, direction and evaluation of the current and evolving landscape of the crisis continuum of care and mental health diversion at Crisis Services. This position will not only assume current diversionary projects oversight but will build upon these efforts in coordination with internal and external stakeholders. Key stakeholders include, but are not limited to: law enforcement agencies; other emergency first responders such as fire and ambulance; mental health/behavioral health/addictions organizations, criminal justice entities. This position will participate in local, state and federal level initiatives/coalitions/training in an effort to achieve best in class mental health diversionary projects and procedures at Crisis Services and in Erie County. Essential Functions of the Position Include, But Are Not Limited to: Serve as Chair of the Police Mental Health Coordination Project which includes oversight, coordination of meetings, management of listserv and related outcomes Support GAINS Center work: Continuous Sequential Intercept Model mapping and lead oversight of identified action plan and outcomes Coordinate with CIT Training Coordinator and local law enforcement entities related to service gaps/needs Serve as liaison among 988, Mobile Outreach Response Program diversion and 911 Dispatch diversion on a mezzo/macro level for the organization Establish and/or maintain a variety of effective stakeholder partnerships, including but not limited to: local law enforcement, first responders, county representatives, external community diversion program leadership, CPEP, Peer community Coordination and connection with external diversionary projects including but not limited to: behavioral/mental health organization/programs; law enforcement co-responder models; ambulance diversion project; community led diversionary programs Assist Program Directors/Managers in relation to above functions that are integrated in their depts Address service provision complaints with local police agencies and other emergency services providers Provide organizational representation on local subgroups and committee participation Assist with review and evaluation of specific internal diversion programs Attend and participate in all required organization meetings, as well as external meetings, as indicated by supervisor Create, compile and monitor data dashboard Manage, maintain and supply applicable funding reports Maintain a valid NYS driver's license and have access to a usable vehicle All other duties as assigned by supervisor Position Qualifications: EDUCATION: Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in social work, public health, mental health counseling, or related degree. Master's preferred. LICENSURE: N/A EXPERIENCE : Minimum of 2 (two) years' professional experience in human service related industry. Mental Health Services and Supervisory experience preferred. Experience working in a crisis center and/or mental health field. SKILLS : Demonstrated capacity to work across disciplines and a wide variety of stakeholders. Superior knowledge of mental health dynamics and effects, public awareness and crisis prevention and intervention services. Superior knowledge of HIPAA laws/regulations with regard to protected health information; code of ethics, confidentiality and privacy principles. Knowledge of suicide practices and procedures strongly preferred Knowledge of best practices in regards to emergency mental health and diversionary programs Strong demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and develop effective interpersonal relationships with team members, clients, and staff Demonstrated judgment, empathy, and ethical values and abilities that align with Organization goals and values Work independently, but also in coordination with law enforcement, mental/behavioral health, community agencies. Develop strong partnerships with multidisciplinary stakeholder groups Effective verbal and written communication with supervisors, staff, and community contacts Be reliable and consistent in attendance, punctuality, work ethic and professionalism. Independently manage multiple tasks, timelines, and priorities in a rapidly changing and fast paced environment Dependability in terms of follow-up, meeting deadlines, and managing time are imperative RELATIONSHIPS: Internal : Will maintain productive relationships with organization leadership, program staff, volunteers, employees and vendors of the organization.
