POSITION SUMMARY: Responsible for keeping dental instruments clean, sanitized, organized and ready for use. POSITION QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS Education: Minimum High School graduate or equivalent Experience in a healthcare setting required Dental Assistant preferred Experience: Two years prior experience Skills and Abilities Strong organizational and time management skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Excellent interpersonal and telephone skills with the ability to communicate clearly and project a pleasant and professional demeanor. Proficient computer skills including the use of word processing, e-mail and electronic medical/dental records software. Knowledge of the health care field and dental processes and procedures. Conducting tests and inspections of products, services, or processes to evaluate quality or performance. Ability to set priorities, recognize problems, inform appropriate person of problem and assist in problem resolution. Ability to work in a fast paced environment. Transportation Requirement: None License(s)/Certification(s): Not required FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB Essential Functions Maintains familiarity with and follows OSHA standards. Ensures instruments are sterilized as soon as feasible when received into central sterilization. Maintains cleanliness and order of all areas of sterilization. Keeps accurate logs of spore testing. Uses the system to monitor and track instruments through sterilization. Keeps the Lead Sterilization Tech apprised of any issues or concerns with equipment, supplies or procedures related to sterilization. Meets the needs and special requests of the providers with regard to instruments and hand pieces. Promotes effective working relations and works effectively as part of a team to facilitate the Dental Center's ability to meet goals and objectives. Attains goals and objectives within specified time frames. Follows the Exposure Control Plans/Blood borne and Airborne Pathogens. Demonstrates respect and regard for the dignity of all patients, families, visitors and fellow employees to ensure a professional responsible and courteous environment. Performs other duties as assigned. Marginal Functions Trains other staff as needed Attends meetings as required. Supervises: None NOTE: Affinia Healthcare is a Covid-19 Vaccine Mandated Employer.
