New Mexico Work-Study Summer 2023 Student Employment Shiprock/Crownpoint - Various Departments ROLE: The New Mexico Work-Study program provides students with the opportunity to gain valuable work experience in a professional setting through employment on campus that supports their career and degree program. It offers students who are eligible the opportunity to build their resumes while they are working towards achieving their degree. New Mexico Work-Study employees will provide administrative and office support to various departments at various campus locations. Major Tasks, Duties, and Responsibilities: o Help plan, schedule, and implement activities for individual and/or group activities based on the department's needs.o Coordinates and participates in planned activities designed to promote social interaction and intellectual stimulation.o Clerical duties such as answering phones, writing memos, running errands, word documents, Xeroxing, faxing, etc.o Assist with the creation of flyers, special event notices, and help publicize eventso Tasks assign by department location Qualifications: o Must have an unmet financial need as determined by their Cost of Attendanceo Must be enrolled in at least 6 credit hours (Summer 23)o Must have a completed FAFSA on file and qualify for Title IV funding such as Pell Granto Must be in Good Standing with Financial Aido Must be a New Mexico Resident Learning Outcome: o Students will develop critical Customer Service skills and office-based skillso Students will learn time management, professionalism, and cooperative teamworko Employees will gain insight working in an office-type environment, and students will gain the proper experience working and will develop the knowledge and terminology to successfully transition into the workforce.
