Join Our Caring Team The Orchard has been a vital continuing care retirement community (CCRC) in the state of Mississippi, since 1986. Our beautiful campus offers independent apartments, assisted living apartments, a 52-bed memory care residence and a 60-bed skilled nursing home facility. We are seeking smiling and professional individuals to join our Orchard family.Staff LPN must have the physical, emotional, & technical abilities to: Work under the direction of the Director of Nurses Maintain knowledge of each resident from his/her biosketch and family interview Participate in Resident care plan meetings Accept & verify resident medications delivered from pharmacy Verify receipt of physician orders for medications and other treatments Administer medications per physician's order Clarify physician orders as needed by calling the physician or his/her designee Insure all medication documentation is current and correct, including medication administration forms, physician orders, change of dosages, etc. Insure medication room is completely stocked with all required continuous, PRN, over-the-counter, and other medications as ordered by the physician Insure medication room is secured at all times Follow facility policies regarding disposal of medications Communicate, as needed, with resident family members and other legal representatives in a courteous, professional manner Supervises and gives direction to aides' 'Work Remotely Conduct nursing activities within the scope of the LPN as per the Mississippi Board of Nursing Investigate and document any incidents (e.g. resident falls, suspicious care scenarios, etc.)Report, investigate and document resident/family complaints Document resident activity in narrative form which presents an accurate picture of the residents' state of being Report and document any resident change of condition Oversee resident care (ADL's such as bathing, dressing, grooming, & toileting) in the absence of the Nurse Manager Give instruction regarding resident care to resident aides in a professional manner Supervise and Mentor aides in a manner that promotes teamwork and accountability Provide reports as requested by the Rose Garden Nurse Manager Carry out any other duties as requested by the Rose Garden Nurse Manager The job description provides a framework for the job, however other duties may be assigned as necessary Working Conditions Ability to work within the facility's standard schedule which includes weekend shifts Ability to function as a team player with other divisions of the facility when needed Physical/Sensory Requirements (with or without the aid of mechanical devices) Medium Work - Ability to exert 20-50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects. OSHA Category Classification: II: Potential for exposure to blood borne pathogen WE ARE OFFERING NEW AND COMPETITIVE PAY RATES!!!!
