Metro Aviation is seeking a Paint Technician for our Part 145 Repair Station in Shreveport, Louisiana at the Metro Aviation Headquarters. Job Objective The Paint Technician is responsible to effectively prepare and paint aircraft body parts for completion. Essential Functions Layout aircraft to customer specifications Mixes and applies fillers to aircraft parts and fuselage Prepare aircraft and/or component parts by performing surface preparation tasks prior to application of primer and topcoat Apply primer and topcoat Sand primers and/or fillers on aircraft parts and fuselage Inspect, perform touch-up, and polish painted surfaces for a finished appearance Qualifications Attention to detail is a must Reliability Punctuality Dexterity Focus on assigned tasks Follow directions exactly as instructed *Must be able to pass the OSHA Respirator Medical Evaluation, pre-employment Education and Experience High school diploma or equivalent required Entry-level experience At least two (2) years' experience in paint and body Physical Demands Pro-longed sitting and standing as well as laying, walking, pushing, pulling, reaching, bending, and kneeling Frequent use of hands and wrists Climbing heights on various equipment Lifting up to 50 or more pounds Work Environment Characteristics Indoor/Outdoor shop environment with potential extreme hot and cold temperatures Exposure to hazardous chemicals is possible Moderate to a loud noise level Light machinery used Metro Aviation is committed to employees, customers, and community to promote diversity and inclusion by developing policies, programs, and procedures which foster a work environment where differences are respected and employees are treated fairly.
