We serve a wide range of clients and industries including emerging markets. We are seeking an experienced senior business consultant to provide leadership to an expanding service line for our firm. This is a unique opportunity to provide financial solutions to multiple clients in a Virtual CFO or Controller role. Martin Hood is a trusted advisor to our clients, and we have identified the emerging need to provide high level advisory services related to what it takes financially to support the growth and development of their businesses. The ideal candidate is one who enjoys variety in their career, building relationships with growing and dynamic companies, collaborating on high impact financial solutions, and being a key member of a multi-disciplinary team meeting the needs of a variety of business clients. Prefer candidates located within a reasonable commute to either our Champaign or Peoria, Illinois offices. This key leadership position will deliver a wide range of services to our clients, which will include but not limited to: Driving business development opportunities by prospecting, scoping, proposing, and closing on new business Serving as CFO for a variety of middle market companies Forging strong relationships with the C-Suite in order to manage client relationships Planning, developing, organizing, implementing, directing, and evaluating the financial/accounting functions for clients Evaluating and advising on the impact of strategic planning, and the development of new programs or product lines Identifying resource needs and developing a team of professionals to deliver services to clients Gaining a full understanding of the full range of services delivered by the firm and partnering with other subject matter experts to scope and deliver other services Key competencies and experience necessary to be successful in this role include the following: Senior level experience in private industry finance or accounting, serving as CFO or controller, delivering business consulting services, or similar experience. Demonstrated results driving successful process improvement and finance transformation in a variety of businesses/industries The ability to identify client needs, design and deliver solutions, and to manage the scope of engagements Due to the unique nature of relationships with clients a key attribute will be to demonstrate a high level of self-awareness and the ability to communicate effectively through verbal, written and interpersonal skills Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail Thorough knowledge of accounting standards, principles, procedures, and regulatory requirements The ability to manage in a highly dynamic and changing business environments Demonstrated proficiency and comfort working with a variety of business applications and technologies Martin Hood is an equal opportunity employer
