We are an agile firm in growth mode and we are looking for talented lawyers, whether you have 1 year of experience or 10. Currently, we are seeking someone to fill the role of litigation associate. We are looking for people who • Can solve sophisticated problems for clients• Want growth, integrity, and transparency in their workplace• Don't take themselves too seriously If all these meet your requirements, let's talk! Responsibilities: • Prepare various legal documents, such as motions, pleadings, briefs, and correspondence• Provide legal counsel to clients by analyzing their needs and determining a proper course of action• Oversee paralegals, law clerks, and administrative staff• Work closely with and provide leadership to administrative staff concerning client billing, client meetings and invoicing, as well as finalizing client projects• Perform research, draft briefs, pleadings, and motions• Argue motions in court on behalf of clients during legal proceedings• Identify client conflicts and determine case strategies with options for resolution Qualifications: • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite is necessary• Communication, problem-solving, decision-making, interpersonal, and public speaking skills required• Required Juris Doctorate (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school; representation of clients for at least 2 years a plus• Strong knowledge of legal research programs such as Westlaw and Lexis products is required• Able to work independently while handling multiple files Compensation: $60,000 - $120,000 About Company: Newton and Sullivan is a law firm built from two friends who decided we wanted to practice high-level law but didn't want the typical lawyer life. Top-notch legal work is important. Family...is more important. We have young families and don't want to sacrifice their growth to the altar of the billable hour. Both Chris and Dan are marathoners and have run 4 marathons together, plus one in which Chris only did a half-marathon (lazy, but he won the race).
