This is a position for a seasoned HVAC technician who will be responsible for executing Preventive and Corrective Maintenance at multiple locations as well as coordinating with points of contact with the customer for access to the facilities. Work will occur at multiple locations in New England.Starting at $22.18 DOEResponsibilitiesESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIESThe Essential Duties and Responsibilities are intended to present a descriptive list of the range of duties performed for this position and are not intended to reflect all duties performed within the job. Other duties may be assigned. * Perform needed preventive maintenance on the HVAC equipment we have under contract Essential Duty #1 * Assist other GPS techs when needed * Report to supervisor work that may need to be done not covered in preventive maintenance. * Maintain excellent customer relations during job performance.QualificationsQUALIFICATIONS - EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATIONTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to satisfactorily perform each essential duty. Required (Minimum) Qualifications * Must be able to pass an extensive background check * Must have a valid driver's license and transportation * Should own the basic tools needed to perform maintenance on the equipment * High school education or equivalent * Must be able to pass drug screeningKnowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Characteristics * Knowledge of multiple types of HVAC systems. (Mini-Splits, Rooftop Units, Chillers-Air Cooled,etc.) * Good mechanical/electrical/plumbing skills as related to HVAC equipment. * Ability to lift and carry weights up to 75 lbs. * Ability to work with little supervision. * Ability to travel daily within the New England area. Our company has locations in 6 states with multiple locations.Preferred * 10-15 years of experience maintaining and repairing HVAC equipment. * Experience with maintaining multiple locations. * EPA 608 Certification for refrigerant (Universal). * Experience with Trane/LG a plus. * Controls Knowledge a plus.Required * 7-10 years of experience maintaining and repairing HVAC equipment. * EPA 608 Certification for refrigerant (Type 1 and Type 2).PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTSThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Travel to and from work sites is accomplished via company owned vehicle(van/truck).Work at customer locations includes the need to bring tools to and from the work vehicle to multifloored buildings.WORK ENVIRONMENTWork Environment characteristics described here are representative of those that must be borne by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. GPS maintains a small office in Groton,Ct out of which we base our New England operations. Technicians will report to this office daily for assignments unless scheduled for deployment to a job site.SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES * No supervisory responsibilities.ADDITIONAL QUALIFYING FACTORSAs a condition of employment, may be required to pass a pre-employment drug screening, as well as have acceptable reference and background check results to obtain access to military base. Must have reliable transportation to/from work a necessity and must be able to obtain access to military installations.Shareholder Preference.
