This co-op placement will provide you with an opportunity to work on the Centre Block Rehabilitation project, one of the most exciting, complex and important construction projects ever undertaken in Canada. The Centre Block project is the first time Canada’s two foremost construction companies have pooled their expertise and experience to deliver a project. Both PCL and Ellis Don have proud histories in the construction of many of Canada’s landmark projects. The Centre Block project is a crowning achievement for each company and will serve as a point of pride for many years to come, during construction and well after the project is complete. We are currently seeking Construction & Engineering students to work on the Centre Block Rehabilitation Proje ct. You will be exposed to many practical construction functions during your work term. This position is from May 2024 to August 2024 and will be under the direct supervision of a Site Superintendent or a Project Manager. Responsibilities Conducting deficiency walks Coordinating and supervising sub-trade work Coordinating quality assurance reviews Layout site lines and grades using total station Taking and coordinating progress photos Tracking site progress and deficiencies Verifying site conditions and coordinating with drawings Coordinating, marking up and updating drawings Coordinating work specific scope and trades Conducting trade quote reviews by verifying material quantities, hours, and rates Inputting and updating deficiency logs Participating in project meetings Performing quantity take-offs Producing as-built drawings.
