JOB DESCRIPTION: Vocational Services Coordinator. ORGANIZATIONAL SALARY LEVEL:REPORTS TO: Vice President of RehabilitationPOSITIONS SUPERVISED: Idaho Falls EWS. Idaho Falls & Rexburg CSE Employment Training SpecialistsJOB PURPOSE: To further the mission of Development Workshop, Inc. through effectively training clients in the work skills and characteristics needed to achieve their chosen vocational goals.JOB SCOPE: To assist clients to develop their vocational skills to desired or needed levels to access community employment opportunities. This will be accomplished through rehabilitation services while clients are engaged in paid work opportunities, classroom instruction, discovery activities, and career exploration.SCHEDULE: Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. May occasionally require work beyond the regular workday and work week.WORK LOCATION: This position will require travel between Rexburg and Idaho Falls business locations and the community.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES contributing to corporate values and goals: Fiscal: Ensure client service schedules align with budgeted service hours. Ensure client work time, piece rates, and time studies are completed accurately and submitted timely. Complete monthly attendance for EWS and CSE; complete monthly invoices for CES and School Districts. Submits staff and client work time as directed by corporate procedures; ensures staff resources are well utilized. Monitor annual budget to ensure compliance and offer recommendations for corrective action when needed. Quality: Effectively train clients/students either one-on-one or in a small group using knowledge of verbal and behavioral prompts, understanding of behavior modification techniques (i.e., reinforcement procedures, etc.), data collection/documentation, and observation/implementation of work performance sequences. Assists in the development of individual program plans based on client/student goals, interests, and desired outcomes. Attend and participate in staffing or planning meetings as needed.Complete and/or review Individual Eligibility Evaluations and progress reports as required by the referring agent or funder to ensure they are completed accurately and timely.Responsible for implementing all policies as outlined in DWI Policy manual, Rehabilitation Procedures Manual, and applicable CARF standards.Apply critical thinking and problem-solving skills to resolve conflicts that may arise with clients, customers, or other stakeholders.Actively promote the value of work and the value of people with disabilities in the workplace.Encourage participants to take risks and challenge themselves to continue to develop their skills and level of independence. Innovation: Develop training and employment opportunities within the organization and community, i.e., mobile work crews, internships, enclaves, temporary employment, career exploration, etc.Research training methodologies, curriculum, and instructional materials that may enhance skill development and achievement of goals. Capacity Building: Supervise Employment Training Specialists in a supportive environment and provide opportunities for professional development through training and mentoring. Complete annual employee development plans and take corrective personnel action when warranted. Represent Development Workshop to the community and assist in developing community public relations programs, conduct tours of DWI facilities to individuals, parents, civic clubs, and other interested parties as requested; make presentations to the community promoting Development Workshop, clients served and people with disabilities. This may require time beyond the normal workday. Assist in developing and maintaining positive community and facility relations with various stakeholders, including but not limited to Vocational Rehabilitation, School Districts, Health and Welfare, parents, advocates, businesses/employers, DWI staff, and other clientele involved with DWI. Corporate Culture/Satisfaction: Elicits feedback from various stakeholders and records findings per the corporate communication planResponds timely to requests made by stakeholders i.e., clients, funders, referral sources, advocates, etc.Participate in miscellaneous duties as assigned by the VP of Rehabilitation or CEO.JOB QUALIFICATIONS:Five years of direct experience in vocational/rehabilitation counseling, special education, education, psychology, or related field OR demonstrated performance. Successful completion of Health and Welfare background check.ESSENTIAL SKILLS Strong advocacy skills and belief in the abilities of people with disabilities. Knowledge of training and behavior management techniques. Ability to effectively communicate using verbal and written language skills; complete tasks involving general reading, math, and written language skills. General knowledge of computer software i.e., Microsoft Office, Google Docs, email, and video conferencing. Ability to secure a valid Idaho driver's license. Obtain and maintain first aid/CPR certification. Ability to establish rapport and relationships with various stakeholders including guardians, parents, case managers, funders, referral agents, employers, and the greater community. Ability to work independently. Meet the requirements that DWI is held to by IDAPA: 16.03.10.705.13 e - which states that Adult Day Health providers who provide direct care or services must be free from communicable disease. HELPFUL SKILLS Experience in working with individuals with disabilities or disadvantaged. Knowledge of a variety of disabilities and accommodations Supervisor or management of others PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTSAbility to lift, bend, stoop, reach, stand, sit, or walk for extended periods of time, occasionally lifting of 20 lbs. or more, manipulate a computer keyboard, and operate motor vehicles.SAFETY RESPONSIBILITIES: This position is responsible for the safety of all employees, the public, volunteers, and consumers of corporate services. This position is also responsible for keeping current on appropriate safety and health laws, rules, and regulations that may affect the work environment of DWI's facilities, programs, and services.PERSONNEL AND POLICIES: As a condition of employment, all employees are expected to abide by all the rules of conduct and other standards established by Development Workshop, Inc.
