Role Purpose: The Indigo Press Operator will program and prepare jobs for printing - needs to possess and demonstrate the skills and abilities to effectively operate and maintain digital print equipment with limited assistance. Primary Roles and Responsibilities: Reads instructions from job jacket and ensures that the job is set up properly Prints all documents as assigned to include setting up and formatting documents Understands machine capabilities to achieve optimum print quality Performs routine printing procedures, most of which require specific skills and aptitudes - quality inspection, adherence to procedure, visual discrimination, analysis and judgment Responsible for stocking machines as needed Troubleshoot and perform light maintenance on equipment as needed Meet schedule deadlines while ensuring quality work Continually inspect jobs coming off equipment for completeness and accuracy Assists in cleaning up and keeping immediate work area neat and orderly Follow and comply with all safety and work rules and regulations Other duties as assigned Qualifications: Indigo Certification Preferred High School Diploma or GED Strong computer skills with file-to-print process Technically and mechanically oriented Printing and/or related production experience Color printing experience (4-color preferably) Quality focused, ability to recognize quality issues and recommend solutions Excellent written and verbal communication skills Self motivated team player Flexibility in order to adjust to daily needs Positive "can do" customer focus and attitude Physical Abilities: Able to lift up to 50 lbs. Ability to stand for a full 8 or 12 hour production shift, Ability to handle materials, lifting from floor to table height.
