IT Field EngineerReports to: Senior Field EngineerDirect Reports: NoLocation: New Albany, MSEmployment Type: Full Time Monday thru Friday 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM on site required occasional after hour work as needed.Summary:Under general supervision, installs, updates, configures and troubleshoots personal computer hardware and software, and provides help desk support and training to end users in a Microsoft Windows environment that includes Microsoft operating systems and software.Examples of Duties:Assists users by diagnosing and resolving problems with personal computer hardware and software.Runs diagnostic tests and utility software to identify and correct problems.Upgrades and/or repairs computer hardware by removing and replacing components such as memory, hard drives, motherboards, and power supplies.Installs, upgrades, and configures operating system and application software on end user machines. Instructs users on usage of installed software.Powers down, disconnects and relocates personal computers and related equipment as needed for office moves. Sets up and tests equipment in new location to assure correct operation.Maintains printers and faxes by cleaning, replacing toner, updating print drivers, and calling service personnel for more extensive work as needed.Administration of the VOIP phone system. Specifically, assigning phones & phone numbers to employees and call center software management. Main liaison between company and phone vendor.Maintains department files, logs, inventories, and asset tracking systems in accordance with established procedures.Cleans, organizes, and maintains computer and server rooms and departmental storage locations.Complies with all environmental regulations regarding disposal of old parts, equipment and any chemicals used in the work.Ensures the security of personal computers and connected network resources by using appropriate tools and procedures to isolate threats. Reports any suspected security vulnerabilities or breaches to supervisor.Manage mobile devices for company. This includes purchase, upgrade and troubleshooting as needed. Mobile devices could be cellphones, tablets, or legacy handheld units.Assist maintenance department with troubleshooting and upkeep of production equipment on plant floor.Main point of contact for Card Access System and Security Cameras, work closely with vendor to communicate any problems or changes that are needed by the business.Provide technical support for in-house TV communication system.Responsible for all IT related purchases via Amazon or other vendors. Work closely with the Purchasing department to facilitate contract renewals as needed.Terminate data connections at switch locations and maintain accurate records of wiring, maintenance is responsible for running data lines.Provide first level support for ERP system.Provide first level support and day to day maintenance of Docuware application, work with vendor as needed on bigger projects.Manage vendors as needed.Professional & Personal Qualifications:Minimum to have Associate degree in computer science or related field.3 years of help desk experience in a Microsoft environment.A+ Certification from the Computing Technology Industry Association is preferred.Substantial knowledge of Microsoft Windows Operating Systems, Microsoft Office software, and Microsoft Office365 platform.Substantial knowledge of cyber security software and best practices.Considerable knowledge of the functioning and assembly of hardware components used in personal computer systems.Considerable knowledge of the risks of electrical shock and electrostatic discharge, and of techniques and equipment necessary to avoid associated risks to personal safety and damage to equipment.Skill in manipulating hand tools to assemble and disassemble computers and related equipment in a safe manner.Skill in translating technical information into non-technical language that is understandable to end users.Ability to use logic and insight to troubleshoot hardware and software problems.Ability to grasp and manipulate small parts.Ability to use tact and discretion in communicating with others.Ability to maintain confidentiality.RSG is an EEO employer as defined by the EEOC.
