Learn more about the MIM process here: https://www.optimim.com/ We are currently recruiting an experienced (Level II) Industrial Maintenance Mechanic on our graveyard shift. Mechanics receive training in electrical, mechanical, plumbing and plant operations to ensure they are able to perform this role with minimal supervision. The training period lasts about 2 months and occurs on the swing shift.The Maintenance Mechanic will perform routine equipment repairs and preventative maintenance under general supervision. Responsibilities include assembly and disassembly of mechanical equipment, troubleshooting equipment failures, performing preventative maintenance, configuring/repairing plumbing, brazing, basic electronic repairs, and some TIG/ARC welding. REQUIREMENTS Ability to communicate in English, in both written and oral form. Ability to observe and interpret situations and analyze and solve problems. Ability to use shop mathematics - addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division, along with the ability to understand both SAE and Metric measurements. Ability to prioritize changing tasks and duties. Establish & maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of the work. High school diploma or G.E.D equivalent is required. Level II: Two years of previous technical training or coursework in industrial maintenance through technical schools (certificate or diploma) or trade experience. Equivalent combination of education/experience/knowledge may be substituted in lieu of that described above. WORK CRITERIA/CONDITIONS Work is performed in a manufacturing plant setting, which may include exposure to extremes in temperature and humidity, moving mechanical parts, risk of electrical shock, toxic chemicals, fumes or airborne particles. Ability to regularly stand, sit, demonstrate manual dexterity, climb stairs and ladders, work on elevated platforms, talk, hear and see. Occasionally may be required to lift moderately heavy objects (up to 50 pounds) during the course of the workday. Personal protective equipment is required when performing work in a manufacturing plant environment, including hearing protection, safety glasses, and as needed, respirator, rubber steel-toe boots, protective clothing, gloves and any other protective equipment as required. Wage: DOE/E, $23.30 to $28.00 Shift Differential : $1.25 for the graveyard shift. Training Schedule : Training lasts approximately 2 months on the swing shift, Mon-Fri, 12:00 pm to 7:30 pm Permanent Schedule : Graveyard Shift, Wednesday through Saturday, 8:00 pm to 6:30 am (four 10-hr shifts) Benefits : Medical (HSA or PPO), generous HSA contribution, Rx, dental, vision, short & long term disability, group life, dependent life, whole life, AD&D, critical illness, accident insurance, hospital indemnity, FSA, LegalShield, pre-tax transit passes, tuition reimbursement, and 401k with generous employer match.
