QUALIFICATIONS 1. Valid Tennessee teacher's license with appropriate endorsement 2. Strong written, verbal, presentation, and interpersonal skills 3. Meets health and physical requirements 4. Ability to work cooperatively, effectively, and respectfully with staff, parents, and students from diverse backgrounds 5. Bilingual preferred 6. FLSA REPORTS TO: Principal JOB GOALS: To support students and lead them toward the fulfillment of their potential for academic growth and to communicate with parents/guardians of ESL students. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS 1. Plans for appropriate instruction to support grade level standards 2. Administers diagnostic tests and evaluates student's progress on a regular basis 3. Maintains records of all ESL students and their status 4. Communicates with teachers and parents to support the academic development of ESL students 5. Assists with translation and interpretation services when needed 6. Performs other work duties when assigned
