We are seeking a highly capable and motivated individual to join our dynamic, entrepreneurial team as Staff Accountant to be based in Vancouver and committed to a hybrid model (with 2-3 days per week in the office). Our Staff Accountant will perform the bulk of our daily accounting functions, including maintaining the general ledger, performing monthly reconciliations on key accounts, and helping to compile financial statements. Our new Staff Accountant will work directly with the Corporate Controller and other members of our corporate team in downtown Vancouver. This role is perfect for someone on the path to obtaining their CPA; as an office with multiple CPAs, we will provide mentorship and support through the PEP program. Responsibilities (including but not limited to) Transactions: Maintaining general ledger for each company in our portfolio; preparing supplier payments; assisting with payroll entries. Reporting: Supporting the Controller in preparing year-end consolidated financial statements; working with external advisors, auditors. Compliance : Preparing GST/PST returns and other tax filings. Monitoring : Preparing monthly reconciliations for key accounts. Payroll: Assist with the processing of bi-weekly payroll for each company.
