Job Description:WHEELS, INC.Job DescriptionJob Title: Subrogation Specialist Department: Subrogation Reports To: Subrogation/FNOL/Safety Supervisor FLSA Status: Prepared By: Susan HajekPrepared Date: 04/10/2019Approved By: Approved Date: SUMMARYProvide auto claim subrogation recovery for Wheels clients on the Collision Management program. Tasks will include all aspects of First Notice of Loss notifications and 3rd party auto damage recoveries. As a Subrogationist methods for recoveries will include negotiating with carriers, uninsured motorist direct collections, outsourcing to collection agencies, claim submission to arbitration and assisting with legal action.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Analyze and edit loss report folders to determine subrogation feasibility and establish common coding as specified by client parameters.Administer claims in accordance with client profiles.Assist and instruct drivers in rental, tow, and process needs as encountered.Demonstrate & apply knowledge of insurance/subrogation industry trends and update management as needed.Demonstrate & apply knowledge related to the United States, Canada and Puerto Rico for subrogation and insurance collection standards.Negotiate and conclude subrogation attempts. Maintain a timely diary of all pending files.Prepare arbitration contentions.Consult claim administration staff in all aspects of daily operations.Other duties as assigned.QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Must be organized and possess time management skills.EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE2 years auto insurance industry experience.Minimum of 1 year experience in subrogation handling and arbitration.Minimum of 2 years experience in customer service.PC familiarity, including, but not limited to Windows environment and Lotus Notes.LANGUAGE SKILLSBi-lingual-(Spanish/French) a plusCERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONSACLS designation by the American Educational Institute or comparable courses to be completed within year from hire date.Courses to be completed within 2 years from hire Law of Damages Law of SubrogationPHYSICAL DEMANDS The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
