The University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics Downtown Campus intends to hire for one position at either the Imaging Technologist classification or Senior Imaging Technologist, based on the qualifications of the successful candidate. Please indicate in your cover letter the position you wish to be considered for or indicate both.The University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics Downtown Campus - Urology Clinic is seeking a Senior Imaging Technologist or an Imaging Technologist. This position will function as a member of the clinical team. Perform X-ray procedures in accordance with ARRT and state guidelines. Maintain X-ray equipment, supplies, and X-ray room. Assist with patient care by preparing the patient for the exam, assisting the provider during the exam and treatment of the patient, and assisting the patient after the exam. Perform routine laboratory procedures to include collection and preparation of specimens.University of Iowa Health Care Medical Center Downtown (located at 500 E. Market Street, Iowa City, IA) is a 194-bed hospital that became part of Iowa's only comprehensive academic health system on Jan. 31, 2024. Percent of Time: 100%Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pmPay Grade: 5The department will be filling this position at one of two levels. The Imaging Technologist classification salary is 4, and the Senior Imaging Technologist classification salary is 5. Benefits Highlights: * Regular salaried position located in Iowa City, Iowa * Fringe benefit package including paid vacation; sick leave; health, dental, life and disability insurance options; and generous employer contributions into retirement plans * For more information about Why Iowa?, click here Experience Requirements * Senior Imaging Technologist: A Bachelor's degree in Radiologic Technology or other Allied Health Sciences discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required. * Senior Imaging Technologist: Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills. * Senior Imaging Technologist & Imaging Technologist: Previous experience as a radiologic technician in a clinical environment with an understanding of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology. * Imaging Technologist: Requires Successful completion of two-year or other approved program by Joint Review Committee in Radiologic Technology Education is required. Certification Requirements (Senior Imaging Technologist and Imaging Technologist) * Current certification or eligibility for certification in diagnostic procedures by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) is required. * Current Permit to Practice issued by the Iowa Department of Public Health for all radiographers operating ionizing radiation emitting equipment is required.
