As an Electrical Design Engineer with a focus on LRE (Life-Reliability Engineering), the position involves several crucial responsibilities. The engineer plays a pivotal role in ensuring that project objectives are clearly understood and agreed upon by stakeholders. This includes conducting comprehensive conceptual engineering, where various alternatives are thoroughly evaluated to arrive at the most reasonable solutions. A significant aspect of the role is the identification, estimation, and coordination of Design Engineering resources necessary for the development and implementation of design change packages. This involves a meticulous approach to scheduling, ensuring that engineering activities are completed within specified timeframes. The Electrical Design Engineer also manages contracted engineering efforts, overseeing technical acceptance, cost adherence, and other associated duties. Collaborating closely with the Project Manager is essential to align Engineering deliverables with the overarching needs of the project. In addition to routine responsibilities, the engineer is expected to become qualified to independently prepare design change packages and handle minor modifications. This showcases a progressive role where the individual is empowered to take on more complex tasks and contribute significantly to the engineering process. Furthermore, the position includes duties within the Emergency Response Organization, providing a holistic perspective on the engineer's role in responding to unforeseen events and emergencies. These additional duties are assigned by the Electrical Design Engineering Manager, emphasizing adaptability and readiness to contribute to various aspects of the engineering function. This role is primarily home-based but requires some in-person interaction during plant outages, which might be every 3 months. Qualifications 1. Educational Background: A Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related Technical Degree. 2. Professional Experience: A minimum of two years of practical experience in the nuclear industry or a closely related field. 3. Technical Competence: Proficiency in inspecting electrical systems within the industrial areas of a nuclear power plant. 4. Schedule Flexibility: Availability for shift work, especially during plant outages and periods of generation challenges, showcasing adaptability to the dynamic operational demands. 5. Specialized Skills: Current experience and expertise in conducting electrical analysis specifically within a nuclear plant setting. 6. Regulatory Compliance: Must meet Nuclear's stringent requirements for Unescorted Plant Access, ensuring adherence to industry standards and safety protocols. Shift schedule Hybrid.
