We are currently seeking an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our team as an Overnight Assignment Editor.Position Overview: The Overnight Assignment Editor at WINK News will play a crucial role in shaping our news coverage during the overnight hours. This position requires a detail-oriented and organized individual with a strong news judgment and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities: Monitoring various news sources, including scanners, social media, and news wires, to identify breaking news and story leads. Support the assignment desk by researching news stories, verifying facts, and assisting in story development. Collaborate with reporters, photographers, and newsroom personnel to coordinate coverage assignments and logistical arrangements. Work closely with producers to ensure a smooth transition between overnight and morning news broadcasts. Assist in maintaining accurate and up-to-date information in newsroom databases and systems. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Communications, or a related field (recent graduates or individuals pursuing degrees are encouraged to apply). Strong passion for news, storytelling, and a keen interest in pursuing a career in journalism. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. High level of curiosity, adaptability, and a desire to learn from experienced industry professionals. Basic understanding of newsroom operations, journalism principles, and digital media tools is a plus. Ability to work overnight hours Additional Information: Type: Full-time, entry-level position with opportunities for growth and advancement within the company.
