What is JetZero? Today’s aircraft contribute around 2.5% of global CO2 emissions, equivalent to the emissions of 200 million cars. This is only going to increase: Air travel is forecasted to double by 2050, while meaningful efficiency gains using current airplanes have hit a wall. That future will only be possible if we share our vision and what it means to people’s lives: carbon-free flight that's better for both passengers and carriers.   This is why we’re hiring a Fuel System Architecture Engineer. You will be responsible for the architecture, installation, integration, and life-cycle success of the Fuel System and its components in both digital and physical environments. You will coordinate between the various departments - Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Flight Controls, Landing Gear, Software, Lab and Flight Test, Procurement, Manufacturing, Operations - as necessary to ensure the technical success of the Fuel System. JetZero is a place for people who are ambitious, talented, and humble. This role is based in Long Beach, CA reporting to the Head of Fuel Systems. What You'll Do Generate, review, approve, and manage system requirements in Team Center to ensure airworthiness and program requirements are met Establish, develop, and manage the configuration and characteristics of the airplane's fuel system to show the system design and installation meets performance requirements while working with system suppliers and using analytical tools such as Flowmaster Serve as a system-level expert to conduct multi-disciplinary design reviews with internal departments, suppliers, and the certification authorities throughout the phases of development, certification, and production readiness as required Coordinate as required to execute and manage system design projects, testing, certification, production readiness, etc. Design and coordinate the build of an Integrated Test lab for Fuel Systems, in close coordination with various departments and system suppliers Establish and maintain the digital environment ensuring the accuracy and consistency of product data throughout the product lifecycle using Teamcenter PDM. Generate, review, and/or approve System safety analyses, such as FHAs, FTAs, CCAs, etc. Engineering drawings, schematics, and design specifications System and equipment test plans and reports Compliance documentation System engineering behavior models and processes Various project management tasks as required Develop internal design practices based on fuel system knowledge, a detailed understanding of civil aviation standards and practices Helpful Traits You have a Startup Mindset – We are a small team with big ambitions. Experience Bachelors Degree in Engineering from an accredited university (or international equivalent). 5 years of experience in aircraft systems for Part 25 aircraft. ARP4754 development processes and experience with model-based design is an asset. Experience with software tools such as Siemens Teamcenter, Siemens NX, Dassault Cameo Systems Modeler, Mathworks Matlab and Simulink preferred. Knowledge of FAA/EASA regulations preferred.
