Senior Test Engineer

Description:
Responsible for test support for new product introductions (NPI) when introduced into manufacturing, legacy test equipment, continuation engineering product changes, production support, and equipment replacement. Implement and support cost-effective automated methods of testing and troubleshooting manufactured product including printed circuit board assemblies (PCBAs), final assemblies, and in some cases large systems testing in a production manufacturing environment. The test equipment consists of electrical, electronic, mechanical measurement and controls, mechanical fixtures and test software which are used in global manufacturing facilities to produce Rockwell Automation products. The Test Engineer will actively work with the global and local plant environments in collaboration with design teams to achieve optimum product and test equipment designs for manufacturability. Works on issues of moderate scope and complexity where analysis of situations or data requires review of relevant factors. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Must have a Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field and 5 years of progressive, post-baccalaureate work experience in a manufacturing test environment. Alternatively, the employer would accept a Masters degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field and 3 years of work experience in a manufacturing test environment. Must have 3 years of experience as Engineer Contributor across a cross functional team including design and development of test equipment for production and experience working in an operations manufacturing environment supporting production test equipment and processes. Must have 3 years of experience with developing and leading implementation of continuous improvement, error proofing, ergonomics, yield, and other lean manufacturing initiatives for test equipment and processes; including manufacturing test equipment (not lab equipment). Must have 3 years of experience with implementation of common test practices across site and sharing of common practices and lessons learned with other manufacturing facilities and NPI development teams. Must have 3 years of experience in appropriate Lean Six Sigma tools for test equipment qualification, test system problem solving, and identification and implementation of continuous improvement opportunities in the manufacturing test equipment realm. Must have 3 years of experience in DMAIC model methodology. Must have 3 years of experience with hands-on technical support resolving test process issues in a manufacturing test operations environment. Must have 3 years of experience with leading efforts with understanding quality data for manufacturing test processes and product repair processes and creation/maintain troubleshooting tools and guides for tester/product repair. Must have 3 years of experience participating in manufacturing test process focused projects enabling the plants to meet annual productivity goals and reduce/eliminate safety and ergonomic risk in the manufacturing work environment. Must have 3 years of experience with leading and participating in the procurement, installation and validation activities with test equipment targeted for the manufacturing production. Must have 2 years of experience in Troubleshooting and Programming using PLC and text-based software programming languages (C# and C++). Must have 2 years of experience debugging, modifying, and troubleshooting software (C++, C#, NI TestStand, and PLC) used in a manufacturing test process in a production facility.
