Practice Area: Litigation - Commercial, Job Type: Attorney, Firm Type: Law Firm, Experience: 3 Years, Job Overview: A law firm in Jackson, MS, seeks a diligent and experienced Commercial Litigation Associate Attorney to join its dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of commercial litigation procedures, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage a diverse caseload efficiently.Duties:Prepare and file legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and discovery requests.Confidently take and defend depositions.Effectively communicate with clients and managing attorney(s) to understand the client’s concerns.Represent clients in court, at mediations, and or settlement conferences.Negotiate settlements with opposing counsel or insurance companies.Analyze, evaluate, synthesize, and research case law, statutes, regulations, and documents impacting the firm’s clients.Communicate clearly and logically (orally and in writing) with regulatory agencies, courts, counsel, clients, and managing attorney(s).Organize and manage documents from multiple sources during multidistrict and other complex litigation.Manage caseload effectively and efficiently.Try simple matters with little supervision.Requirements:Doctor of Jurisprudence (J.D.) from an accredited law school.3 years of litigation experience.Ability to work independently.Time management, organization, efficiency, and reliability are essential qualities required.Licensed to practice law in Mississippi. Being licensed in Louisiana is a plus.Skills:Strong understanding of commercial litigation procedures.Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).Proficiency in legal research and writing.Ability to negotiate effectively.Detail-oriented with strong analytical skills.Education:Doctor of Jurisprudence (J.D.) from an accredited law school.Certifications:Licensed to practice law in Mississippi.
