We are focused on attracting, cultivating, and retaining diverse talent who can help us deliver on our mission to be a world leader in the advancement of healthcare for children.We strongly encourage all candidates of diverse backgrounds and lived experiences to apply. ***COVID VACCINE REQUIRED***Responsibilities-Deliver proficient, holistic care under the direction of an ordering physician/clinician.--- Document respiratory interventions, outcomes, and plan-of-care revisions.--- Provide status reports and offer recommendations during patient care rounds.--- Maintain therapeutic relationships with families, incorporating diverse needs and methods of coping into treatment plans.--- Adhere to the American Association of Respiratory Care's Clinical Practices Guidelines and CHOP's organizational policies and procedures.-Participate in interdisciplinary committees, shared governance initiatives, research activities, and the development of policies and procedures.-Incorporate research and quality improvement findings into clinical practice.-Identify learning needs; propose and participate in educational activities; and apply new training, skills, and knowledge to daily work.Position Details--- Contract positions with CHOP, which partners with RightSourcing to offer temporary contract opportunities.o Contract Length: 13 weeks - with the possibility of conversion--- Schedules Options: 3x12's - 36 hours per week--- Shifts Options:o Either Day or Night shift opportunities available--- Night shift: (7 PM - 7 AM)--- Day shift: (7 AM - 7 PM)o Every 3rd weekend and Holiday commitment is required.--- Location: CHOP Main Hospital address is 3401 Civic Center Boulevard, Philadelphia, PA 19104. --- Pay Rate: $65.38/hr. Required Education and Experience--- Required: High school diploma/GED--- Required: Technical diploma- Respiratory Careo Preferred: Associate degree- Respiratory Care--- Required: At least one (1) year prior pediatric respiratory care experienceLicenses, Certifications, Registrations--- Required (upon hire): Respiratory Therapist (Pennsylvania) - Pennsylvania State Licensing Board--- Required (upon hire): Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) - National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC)--- Required (upon hire): Basic Life Support (BLS)--- Required (upon hire): Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)* or Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)* or Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)ithin 6 months; --- Required: BLS requiredo Preferred: PALS preferredo Long-term employees participate in RQI which provides BLS and PALS certifications.*Must be issued through an organization that requires a hands-on instructor-led lead psychomotor skills verification (i.e., American Heart Association or Red Cross)Childrens Hospital of Philadelphia Job ID #31496630-1.
