Our services include emergency food transitional housing and education for homeless and street-involved youth; hospice palliative care; community mental health programs; and supportive housing programs. We are committed to integrating Harm Reduction practices into our programs and to prioritizing the rights, dignity, and choices of those who use substances. By integrating a Harm Reduction framework at Good Shepherd, we can decrease barriers to service and better support some of our community's most marginalized members. This opportunity is with our Good Shepherd - HOMES - Mathias Place How You Will Make an Impact The HOMES program provides supportive housing to persons who have been homeless and are living with a mental illness. Team members support tenants to reach personal goals and to have a satisfying and meaningful life in the community. An opportunity exists to join our Mental Health team as a Community Support Cleaning Coach. Work to make a difference in the lives of tenants living at various apartment buildings in the community (Hamilton) Provide hands-on assistance to tenants with independent living skills in the community - specifically cleaning, laundry, and organization Be an integral part of the mental health team that supports and advocates for the clients Work collaboratively with the tenants in their home and in a range of community settings What You'll Bring to Our Team A post-secondary education and experience in social services, personal support, and/or life skills training A minimum of two years' experience in mental health, health care, developmental services and/or concurrent disorders is required A 'recovery orientation' and 'consumer driven' style of practice.
