The role of the Pharmacist-in-Charge is to implement, maintain, and improve systems to ensure the pharmacy's continued compliance with Company quality and regulatory policies for meeting applicable state and Federal pharmacy rules, regulations and accreditation standards while ensuring continued patient access to medications. Responsibilities include implementing, maintaining, and continuously improving systems for: proactively monitoring and controlling day-to-day pharmacy practices to ensure continual compliance with quality and regulatory policies; identifying day-to-day pharmacy practices for which Company quality and regulatory policies should be created or updated; and implementing corrective and preventative actions to effectively address any identified areas of risk associated with preparation quality, patient safety, or regulatory compliance. In addition, s/he provides their expertise in pharmacy practice compliance to assist in: interpreting pharmacy rules and regulations; developing corrective/preventative action plans; and drafting responses to regulatory inquiries. The Pharmacist-in-Charge takes the lead in managing inspections or audits conducted by regulatory or accreditation bodies and works collaboratively with all members of the Regulatory team, Quality team, Leadership Team, and functional area staff to accomplish goals. When will you work? The hours for this position are Monday - Friday 8:00 am - 5:00 pm, varying hours may be needed due to business need. What you'll do: Maintain and improve systems to ensure the pharmacy's continued compliance with applicable state and federal pharmacy rules, regulations and accreditation standards Obtain and maintain the necessary technical training and qualifications required of the Pharmacist-in-Charge for the state in which the pharmacy is located. Maintain a license to practice pharmacy in the state in which the pharmacy is located. Obtain and maintain the required technical training and pharmacist registration and/or licensure in other states as necessary to support or strengthen the growth of the Company. Lead Wedgewood's Regulatory, Quality, and Operations Teams in managing on-site inspections and responding to regulatory inquiries within required timelines. Identify opportunities to create or update Company regulatory, quality, or compliance policies to continually ensure consistent, efficient provision of medication to patients and prescribers while meeting applicable quality and regulatory expectations and share those opportunities with the Regulatory Team for them to address. Develop, implement, and maintain site-level processes and procedures, including but not limited to: in-process controls, personnel supervision, and audits, necessary to ensure day-to-day practices are compliant with Company policies. Lead cross-functional teams in developing, obtaining approval, and implementing immediate, corrective, or preventative actions necessary to mitigate potential patient safety, product quality, or regulatory compliance risks. Develop and maintain a strong working relationship with Wedgewood's Leadership Team to ensure decisions regarding Company policies and strategies are well informed about day-to-day compliance practices. Effectively communicate Wedgewood's pharmacy compliance policies to relevant staff, including pharmacists, functional area managers, and members of the Leadership Team. Personally observe and/or participate in day-to-day pharmacy practices to develop and maintain a strong understanding of the roles, responsibilities, and job tasks of pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, pharmacy interns, and pharmacy externs throughout the pharmacy. Establish measurable performance goals for the pharmacy's Compliance Team and effectively manage pharmacist and non-pharmacist members of the team to achieve goals. Provide coaching, feedback, and development to Pharmacist Quality Managers and ensure the effective leadership of the pharmacist team. Provide the Vice President of Pharmacy Quality and Compliance and Leadership Team with regular reports regarding achievement of established goals. Who you are: A registered pharmacist in the state of California with an active license in good standing as well as a pharmacist actively licensed in multiple states - must be licensed in Oklahoma, or willing to obtain Oklahoma License Exhibit solid interpersonal skills including the ability to remain calm, professional, diplomatic, and positive Comfortable making sound, evidence-based decisions that balance the needs of the patients, prescribers and the company. Proficient in Microsoft Office Thrive in a fast-paced and timeline-driven environment What you've done: Worked in a regulated environment (or equivalent experience) for a minimum of 5 years Lead and managed a team with the capability of getting others enrolled, engaged and aligned on solutions Obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy (BS) or Doctorate Degree in Pharmacy (Pharm. D.)
