Description:
Talladega College is seeking an Assistant Professor to teach Physics courses. This is a tenure-track position reporting to the Dean of Natural Sciences and Mathematics and is slated to begin in fall 2024. Responsibilities The full time faculty member has the primary responsibility of teaching Physics and Physical Science courses. Teaching schedules may include in person, online, hybrid instruction and other instructional modalities that enhance student learning. Teaching responsibilities include innovative and engaging use of technology in the classroom. Additional activities include curriculum development, academic mentoring/advisement, participation in Departmental and Division activities and support of college activities Engage in professional development and remain up-to-date with advancements in the field of Physics. Active service on division and college committees. Perform other job-related duties as assigned. Qualifications Ph.D. in Physics or a related field from a regionally accredited institution. Three years’ experience in higher education. The ideal candidate will have excellent teaching skills, good interpersonal skills and the ability to function collegially as a member of the faculty as demonstrated by experience in higher education. Effective communication and teaching skills, with a passion for helping students understand and apply physics concepts.
