SUMMARY// As our Landscape Curator, your position will be planted firmly in two areas of focus. The first will be responsible for designing and maintaining unique and visually captivating landscapes that combine the beauty of nature with artistic flair. Your exceptional vision and expertise in landscaping will play a crucial role in creating outdoor spaces that leave a lasting impression. This role is responsible for the cultivation and care of the landscaping and grounds surrounding multiple properties (commercial and residential) including The Front Climbing Clubs two locations in SLC. The second area of focus will be in teaching and instructing. The Front Climbing Club is looking to expand it's amenities and offerings to it's member base by providing additional opportunities in the area of horticulture education and plant propagation. This position will assist our owner in the creation of this amenity from the ground up. Developing curriculum, building class schedules, procuring materials, setting up facilities, and teaching these courses will all be part of the development of this role. PRIMARY AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS// Landscape Curator Design and develop innovative landscape concepts that reflect The Front Climbing Club and culture, project requirements, and environmental considerations. Collaborate with the CEO of The Front Climbing Club to understand their vision, goals, budget, and translate their ideas into aesthetically pleasing and functional landscape designs. Create detailed landscape plans, including site analysis, local plant selection, hardscape elements, lighting, and irrigation systems. Select and source appropriate plants, flowers, trees, and other materials necessary for the implementation of landscape designs. Oversee and participate in the installation and construction of landscapes, ensuring adherence to design specifications and quality standards. Provide guidance and direction to a team of landscape technicians, ensuring efficient and precise execution of design plans. Stay updated with the latest trends, techniques, and materials in the landscaping industry, and incorporate them into designs when appropriate. Conduct regular site visits and assessments to evaluate the health and maintenance needs of landscapes, offering suggestions for improvements or enhancements. Instructor Develop Curriculum for member base based on horticulture principals and technique Build class schedules to be advertised at facilities Procure needed materials to provide for classes Setup space on property to house materials and classes Teaching members the content created to provide education on plant health and care Other Duties Execute grounds keeping as needed Mow and edge, clean up debris as needed Maintain accurate records of landscaping improvement Regularly inspects gym property (interior and exterior) for areas of concern Provide snow removal as needed Apply fertilizer to enhance growth Apply Herbicide for unwanted plant mitigation Apply insecticide to combat predatory insects Prune, weed, and maintain grounds as needed Care for established lawns by mulching, aerating, weeding, grubbing, removing thatch, trimming, or edging around flower beds, walks, or walls Use hand tools, such as shovels, rakes, pruning saws, saws, hedge or brush trimmers, Chainsaws or axes Ability to operate skid steer, excavator, dingo, jackhammer, and other large landscaping tools Gathers and removes litter Participates in daily planning, scrum, reprioritizing, and execution of daily plans Able to communicate effectively and in a timely manner with the CEO of The Front Climbing Club as well as the Facilities Manager on all ongoing issues, reprioritizations, and execution of projects and duties. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS// Minimum of five years of landscaping/maintenance experience Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot General maintenance skills such as winterizing building, wiring skills, irrigation experience, for maintenance of water feature, and other grounds Specialization in irrigation Ability to work independently with minimal supervision Ability to work early mornings, late nights, and weekends Strong verbal communication skills Strong organizational skills Use of Microsoft Office software products PHYSICAL DEMANDS// Frequently required to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, and talk, or hear The ability to lift, push, pull, or carry objects of at least 50 lbs Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision and depth perception Frequently in hot weather, operating in the heat and sun during the summer months JOB HAZARDS// Position requires the use of hand tools and power tools and therefore exposes one to punctures, lacerations, foreign objects in the eye, repetitive motion injuries May be required to work on the roof top, ladders and areas of great heights which exposes one to falls Exposed to wet and/or humid conditions Risk of electrical shock Noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to occasionally loud PPE may be required for this position Pay Range: $28-$32 an hour depending on experience EEOC// The Front Climbing Clubs are committed to providing an equal employment opportunity environment of mutual respect for all its people.
