Purpose: To provide leadership, organization, and creative planning for all elements of Worship associated with the ongoing ministry of Emmanuel Church. Requirements: The Pastor of Worship (PoW) is asked to maintain a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, seeking to further their own spiritual growth and maturity through prayer, Bible Study, small groups, and ongoing education. The PoW will seek to develop a good working relationship with all staff and will report to the Lead Pastor. The PoW will be responsible for all aspects of Worship Arts at Emmanuel Church including service planning, audio needs, video needs, technical needs, the platform, décor, creative elements and other elements directly related to the Worship experience. The PoW will have primary responsibility over the website, Church Facebook page (in conjunction with the Lead Pastor), computers and technology. Responsibilities: Administrative Organization The PoW is responsible for scheduling of musicians and tech team members to facilitate Sunday Worship experiences, Wednesday night technical support, and Worship/Technical support for all special events utilizing the Worship Center. **This is a primary role of the PoW. The PoW is to be familiar with all equipment pertaining to Worship and Music. The PoW is responsible for all training of musicians and tech team members. The PoW will provide necessary graphics for the bulletin and other pertinent information regarding the Sunday experience to the Administrative Assistant in a timely fashion weekly. The PoW is to provide three weeks of orders of service for all services and present them at the weekly sermon planning meeting. This will include song selection, special elements, and all aspects of each Worship Service. All orders of service will be kept on Planning Center so that all Equipping Staff and Worship Leaders have access to them at any time. Team Leadership and Recruitment The PoW is responsible for recruiting of musicians and developing musicians to serve on Praise Teams. **This is a primary role of the PoW. The PoW is expected to lead and manage all volunteers under their care. The PoW will have a working knowledge of the sound board, mics, lighting, equipment, and all technology pertaining to each Worship venue of Emmanuel Church. The PoW will provide adequate training for all volunteers and paid staff that are utilized in Worship Ministry. The PoW will seek to develop all elements of creativity within a service to enhance the Worship experience. The PoW will develop a team that will be responsible for décor, props, special elements, and other aspects that deal with the visual presentation of the Worship Center. The PoW will assemble a creative team to collaborate on creative elements of service, sermons, etc. as needed. The PoW will work with the Youth Pastor and/or Youth Worship Intern to help develop Worship Teams in the Middle School and High School settings. These teams will be facilitated by the Youth Pastor or Youth Worship Intern, but the PoW will provide assistance where needed. Communication and Planning Communication with Staff and those who serve in the Worship Arts ministry is to be clear, consistent, and effective. All available modes of communication are to be used to achieve affective communication include, but not limited to Facebook, email, text, letters, phone calls, etc. Phone calls and emails are to be returned within a 24-hour period of time making every effort to respond to the sender/caller. Strategic Planning is a necessary part of this role and is expected in order to provide excellence in all aspects of Worship Ministry at Emmanuel Church. General Expectations The PoW is expected to adhere to the established office hours. The PoW is expected to strive for excellence in all they do in ministry as a reflection of giving their utmost for His Highest. The PoW is expected to practice good time management. The PoW is expected to cast vision for their area of ministry. Technology Director The PoW also serves as the Technology Director (TD). The main role of the TD is to keep computers and networks in working condition. The TD is expected to have a working knowledge of the technology for the office space and classrooms. The TD will assemble and lead a team to help with diagnosis and fixing technology issues. This role is to take no more than 10% of an average work week, with exceptions for larger technology issues.
