The Job The Company: A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Fitter to work for a market leader in the supply of a wide range of Building Materials. Committed to providing customers with the most reliable and comprehensive array of building materials, through to tailoring the customers’ specific needs. The Role of the Fitter: As the Fitter you’ ll be joining a current team of 2 fitters at the companies Manchester Asphalt Plant. A busy plant, the Manchester site has a total of 15 operatives and a rail discharge which see’ s in 8-10 deliveries a week. The role of fitter will see you carry out routine plant maintenance and fitting, alongside planned preventative maintenance PPM checks on the plant. You’ ll work closely with the other fitters in the team and the plant manager to ensure spare parts are on-site. When required you’ ll work with the fitters on larger jobs, as well as working independently. This role is working on a shift basis of, one week early 5am-1:30pm and one week late 8am-4:45pm, alongside this will be alternate Saturday & Sundays 6am-2pm. Benefits of the Fitter: Basic Salary of £39,000 23 days holiday + Bank Holidays increases with service Pension Well-being support Permanently employed role The Ideal Person for the Fitter: Experience of working as a Fitter in a similar production environment e. g Asphalt, Concrete, aggregates etc would be desirable but not essential. Individuals from a Welding/Fabrication background are encouraged to apply- The fitting element can be taught. A good understanding of Health and Safety. Good communication skills and teamwork are required.
